Érdekelt a dolog, hogy mit mond a WD tech support, megkerestem őket emailben, volt pár levélváltás, aminek lényeg nagyjából ez:
„(...)If Purple drives are compatible with your device, than there should not be any issue. We have some WD My Cloud devices that may use Purple drive in your scenario. For example, My Cloud EX2 Ultra(...)
(...)We did not test our internal drives with your particular NAS model, but if Synology claims that these drives are compatible, it means that they have tested drives and were happy with results.
Western Digital does not have the statistics that Purple drive are more prone to have data loss then other drives. Though they were designed for surveillance purposes, they can work in RAID mode and store data in NAS.(...)
(...)You are correct, your chances to lose data stored on the Purple drives installed in your NAS, are not that much bigger, than if data would be stored on the Red drives.
In any case, we do recommend to store second copy of your data on other than your NAS device.(...)”

Bár én a NAS felhasználást forszíroztam a kérdéseimmel, aggodalomra nincs ok a Purple használatával más területen se.
