  System Architect of Java based solutions

  The task is part of development of a complex and safety-critical railway interlocking system.
  The activities were done in close co-operation with experts in Vienna (Austria).

  Tasks:
  •Design software architects of Java based solutions (incl. documentation)
  •Software design for railway application
  •Requirements development (including participation in customer workshops)
  •Subdivide a complex application, during the design phase, into smaller, more manageable pieces
  •Grasp the functions of each component within the application
  •Understand the interactions and dependencies among components
  •Communicate these concepts to developers
  •Writing use cases (in cooperation with the tester)
  •Definition of data models and designs, including corresponding documentation
  •Analysis of new software features and reported problem reports
  •Implementation of software extensions, bug fixes and new functions according to given coding rules
  •Development of JUnit tests

  Job profile:
  •Long experience in development with Java and J2EE
  •Competent knowledge in software architecture
  •Conspicuous knowhow in object oriented programming with Java (SWT, Eclipse RCP, J2EE)
  •Expert knowledge in usage of Java related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate)
  •Linux based development and server platforms
  •Well-founded knowledge at
  •software quality assurance
  •performance testing
  •distributed systems
  •Technical understanding on level of high school providing vocational education with examination,
  Technical College or Technical University
  •Knowledge in writing technical documents
  •Knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  •Good English language knowledge (writing of design specification documents)

  Preferable skills:
  •Experience in methods of agile project teams (SCRUM, KANBAN)
  •Experience or knowledge in databases
  •Know-how about software development life cycles (e.g. specification, design, coding, testing)
  •Experience in version control (Subversion)
  •Experience in bug and problem reporting (ClearQuest)
  •German language knowledge (be able to read German documents)
  •Basic know-how within railways, interlocking or signaling systems
