"I haven't personally compared Trinnov and Storm, but I've been investigating Trinnov vs Storm. Here are the key differences that I have gathered in my research:

    1) Trinnov exposes advanced room correction options that are hidden/automatic with Dirac. In the right hands, this can be used for good (better?) results. For example, with Trinnov, you can manually set the resolution of the correction, while that is hidden and automatic in Dirac, potentially resulting in overcorrection. There are ways to manipulate measurement patterns with Dirac to achieve similar results, but that requires much more time than adjusting Trinnov settings.
    2) Trinnov allows reusing measurement for different presets and manually setting weights. For example, you can take measurements from every seat and easily select specific measurements and weights for front row, back row, both row, and MLP presets.
    3) Trinnov's remapping can be helpful for rooms with compromised speaker locations. Remapping adds panning, so you are better off with speakers in good locations and disabling remapping, if possible. Storm supports manual remapping of the center speaker for use with large flatscreens/micro LEDs.
    4) For digital audio output, Storm Elite & Evo models can support for up to 32 channels of AOIP or AES/EBU, while Trinnov 32 models can support up to 16 channels of AES/EBU only. Trinnov discussed adding AOIP support a couple years ago, but it's unclear where that is heading. Strom can only decode 24 channels (32 limit is post decode for subs, arrays, active crossovers, etc.) Trinnov can decode >24 and be expanded to 48 channels.
    5) For high channel counts, Storm is much more cost effective, particularly if you purchase that up front, rather than adding it later.
    6) The base model on Storm has 16 channels while the base model on Trinnov has 20 channels. The Storm is less expensive.
    7) ART provides active room correction up to 150hz and supports any speaker and sub layout. WF only corrects up to the bass mgmt xover and requires DBA-style layouts. Reviews for both are excellent, but when a room can be designed with DBA-style layouts, WF seems to deliver more consistently good results. OTOH, ART can be configured for directional bass for additional immersion.
    8) Overall, Storm users seem to be happier with HDMI 2.1 issues and sync times than Trinnov users. HDMI 2.1 isn't totally problem free on Storm or on any processor, though.
    9) Storm has a low latency mode that is supposed to deliver. I haven't seen much feedback about latency on Trinnov, although there are comprehensive advanced settings to tune latency.
    10) Subjectively, I have heard some people say that Trinnov lets you hear more of the room (lighter touch) and gives nicer immersion, but some disagree. It's unclear how much of this depends on the room, calibrator, and settings.

Regarding SNR, both brands use pro-level output voltages, making them more vulnerable to noise floor issues w/ consumer amps than prepros with consumer output gains. If you have pro amps or amps with adjustable input gain, that's a non issue. In recent years, both Trinnov and Storm have responded to noise issues by updating their DACs to have very low noise floors. I don't think it's a problem anymore with current models. I'm not sure, but the key difference might be that the new Trinnov and Storm DACs use analog volume, similar to the HTP-1.

In speaking to calibrators, they generally prefer the extra advanced controls and time savings in Trinnov. They say that both are excellent and the choice depends on features needed for a particular application (i.e. AOIP, DBA sub layout, Fusion built-in amps required, remapping needed, etc.)

Audio quality wise, most of the comparisons between Storm and mid-level Dirac processors say ART is a significant benefit. I think the other differences are less significant.
For Trinnov, it gets into apples & oranges territory with Trinnov vs Dirac. I've heard different opinions on that, but more are positive for Trinnov. Most say WF is a significant benefit when the room allows.
Speaking of WF, there are some who argue that a properly set up DBA in a rectangular room gives very similar results. WF benefits from being more automated and more adaptable to more rooms with some layout flexibility.
There have been a few who have tried ART/WF and gone back to using MiniDSPs for bass, but that seems to be the minority."
