Hi!I am just a basic consumer, but the latest news-post managed to reach me. ( https://exascend.com/news/exascend-expands-2-5-inch-sata-ssd-line-to-15tb-capacity ).
In that there is the line:
"Built with 3D TLC NAND Flash technology, Exascend’s SATA SSDs employ direct write-to-TLC to maintain stable read and write performance, effectively mitigating performance drop-off when the SLC cache is exhausted.".What should this mean if i want to write the ABC to the drive, and lets say, the SLC cache only can fit 4 letters:
-As soon as ABCD filled the SLC cache, it is writtent to the TLC area: ABCD written to SLC, then ABCD written to the TLC area, EFGH written to the SLC area, EFGH written to the TLC area, or;
-As soon as ABCD filled the SLC cache, the rest of the data is written to the TLC area: ABCD fills the SLC area, then the write continues with EFGHIJ... to the TLC area, then if the drive goes to stanby or less used the cache is cleared, or;
-As soon as ABC starts being written to the SLC cache, it starts copying it to the TLC area: AB witten to cache, but A already on the TLC area too, so BCD left on the SLC, but B written too, then CDEF in the cache, but C already written, so DEFG fills the cache, etc etc. Every letter goes through the cache, but leaves it as soon as possible, or;
-The ABC being written to the TLC area, but if a write request of 123 starts it is written to the cache first, while the ABC continues to the TLC area. or
-any other way?Thanks for the clarification!

Hello thank you for the question. Exascend industrial and enterprise SATA SSD does not use SLC cache for temporary performance boost. Our SSDs are designed for sustained performance, low latency and QoS. All performance are measured in TLC mode.
ThanksNem érzem, hogy előrébb lennénk.... Bár ez a kína irányba lett feltéve (a szimpla .com cím azaz az...) MOST elküldöm a Hollandoknak is... lássuk mennyire másabb a válaszkutúra... meg akkor a thai-US irányba is...

Egy marketing által összebarkácsolt mondat. Végülis igaz. de valóban értelmetlen technikailag, mert nincs olyan, hogy az adatnak kötelezően át kellene mennie a az SLC-n méghozzá FIFO elven. Vagy ezzel utalnak arra, hogy statikus az SLC cache, ami egy ilyen méretű adattárolónál nem a leggyorsabb, ha még szinte üres a 15TB. de biztonságos.

Mondjuk nem rendszerlemez gondolom (bár amúgy annak se lenne nagyon rossz), és szoftvereket, játékokat se erről futtatnék. Amúgy eredetileg adattárolást (ebbe is bele lehet kötni), archiválást akartam írni, de végül félreérthetően fogalmaztam. Ettől függetlenül azért még lehetett volna érteni, de láthatóan túl magas volt. (Igen, minden HDD/SSD, meg még egy rakás optikai/mégneses tároló is háttértár.)
