  libreCMC is an FSF-endorsed derivation of OpenWrt with the proprietary blobs removed.

  OpenWRT unfortunately still contains some binary blobs for which source code is not available.

  OpenWrt doesn't have access to the source code for binary blobs and so it can't review them, and so binary blobs are counterproductive to security.
