Gratula! Bevallom őszintén, elsőre meglepett az a kijelentésed, hogy az Opteron lassabb, de szépen összeszedted! Szóval minden elismerésem!
Azért még várjuk ki a gyakorlatot, de szorítok, hogy mindez igaz legyen! Kicsit én tartok a beépített memóriavezérlőtől, mert ezt nem olyan könnyű cserélgetni nagyobb teljesítményűre. Persze az az előnye megvan, hogy egy újabb proci újabb memóriavezérlőt is tartalmazhat... Csak ne kelljen hozzá új alaplap! :)) -

ebböl kiderül hogy maximum 68C fokos lehet a Clawhammer, az Athlon-64 processzor. Az opteronnak alacosnyabban kell müködnie, ezt a Prohardveres hir is mondta, hogy a szervereknél fontos az ''hidegfejüség''. Ez elképzelhetö ha az Athlon 2ghzen nyit, az Opteron csak 1.8on marad.

A: The primary difference between the AMD Opteron processor, for servers and workstations, and the upcoming AMD Athlon 64 processor, for desktop and mobile systems, is in the number of HyperTransport technology links embedded on the chip. The AMD Athlon 64 processor will contain one HyperTransport technology link offering 6.4 GB/s data transfer while the AMD Opteron processor offers three links. The processors may contain different amounts of cache depending on the configuration a customer chooses.

Tehát a többprocesszorosdit támogatja meg.
Mi is van még: Az athlon64 memoriavezérlöje 64bites lesz (DDR II), mig az opteroné 144bites, de csak ECC ramokat támogat az opteron.

én csak annyit tudok, hogy az athlon 64 és az opteron majdnem megegyezik, kivéve hogy az opteront szerverbe szánják -> kisebb energiafelvétel (talán), stabilitás az elsö (husszútávú stabilitás, mert a szerver sokat megy 24/7) ami különbség lesz még, hogy az opteronba a memoriavezérlö is valami kutyakaki egy szo mint száz, az opteron lassabb lesz mint egy athlon 64, s szvsz drágább lesz. ki akar venni drágábban lassabb gépet*?

Hosszú. A lényeg a neumann féle számítógép alapjaiban van, ami memóriáról és processzorról szól, ergo minél gyorsabb a kapcsolat annál tutibb minden szempontból. Na most a szingli móddal megölik az Athlon 64-et. Szal ok, hogy gyorsabb lesz mint egy jelenlegi Athlon, de kit érdekelt már a 486-osok korában 33 megahertzes 286-os anno? (remélem érted mire gondolok)
