    Robin Wong:
for a kit lens the new Pancake Zoom M.Zuiko 14-42mm EZ is a class on it's own.

I just could not think of any reason not to highly recommend this lens to go along the OM-D E-M10

    Dave Pardue (imaging resource):
We're obviously big fans of many Olympus lenses as I'm sure you can tell Geordon, but at this point I would consider steering clear of the new 14-42mm EZ compact lens. The 14-42mm II which has been in use for several years now is great for being a kit lens, so a good all-around option to have as a base, but we've now shot with two versions of the newer EZ compact model and both appear soft in our initial testing. We have yet to put it through a thorough test, as we were hoping the second sample they sent to us would prove to not be soft, but that doesn't appear to be the case. All of the primes you mention are excellent choices for the money, and the 40-150mm is not a bad option to have as well if you need the range. It's not constant aperture of course, but it's fairly sharp throughout and reasonably priced for what you get. We'll try and get you more definitive information on the new EZ kit model soon.

The 14-42mm II performs as expected, not nearly as sharp as the 12-40mm but fine for a kit lens. Both 14-42mm EZ units look similar to the 14-42mm II in most areas, except that the lower 1/3rd of the image looks smudged and the lower 1/5th looks very smudged.
